SHADOWS FALL To Begin Recording New Album In September
August 16, 2006Drummer Jason Bittner of SHADOWS FALL has issued the following update:
"Well, it's been a few weeks since our last update, but forgive us, we were busy on the road bringing the rock!!! The Sthress tour came to an almighty close this past weekend in Worcester, Massachusetts to a dynamite crowd. The show rocked, V.O.D. [VISION OF DISORDER] reunited and kicked ass, plus we had the godly LEEWAY with us as well. Towards the end of our set, we let Matt and Jon take a break and Paul Brian, and myself took the stage with Eddie, AJ, and Mike from LEEWAY to perform 'Mark of the Squealer'. As a certain guy from Jersey would say, 'It was FREAKIN' AWESOME!'
"So now what's in store for the SHAD, you might ask... Well, no rest for the wicked. We start rehearsals again this week, and then pre-production starts next week for the new album.
"Due to some unfortunate changes in scheduling, we'll be hitting L.A. to record in September instead of the originally planned November, but that's OK, because that means the new record will definately make it on the shelves by early 2007 followed by EXTENSIVE touring, I'm sure.
"In other news, I'll be going to Germany to perform at the second annual Meinl drum festival on Sept. 9th. I'm not really excited to get on a plane right now due to the current events of the world, but hey, it's my job.
"The Yankees are back in first place so that's good for me, but not for the rest of the band... boo hoo! :-(
"So in a nutshell, thanks for coming out and supporting the tour, and we'll see you soon."
SHADOWS FALL's "Fallout from the War" CD, which features songs that didn't make it onto the band's breakthrough "The War Within" album, some B-sides from Japan releases and a few cover songs, has sold more than 30,000 copies since its June 13 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
